Basic - DHCP --> The amount of time in seconds that the IP address is loaned to a device --> Help This is the amount of time in seconds that an IP address is loaned to a device. When a device joins your network, the SBG6782-AC lends that device an IP address. When the device later leaves your network, the SBG6782-AC can then lend that IP address to a different device. In order to know which IP addresses are available, the SBG6782-AC lends devices an IP address for a specific period of time. This is known as the "lease time." When the lease time is reached, the IP address can be reused. If a device is staying connected to your network, the device will "renew" the lease, giving it more time to keep its assigned IP address. Reserve IP Address MAC Address Error IP Address Error Host Name Help Reserve a specific IP address that is loaned to only one device. There are times when you may decide to assign an IP address to a specific device. This can be done directly in the device through its configuration or you can have the DHCP server "loan" the same IP address to that device whenever it joins the network. Up to 16 devices can have IP addresses reserved in the SBG6782-AC. MAC Address MAC address of the device for which the IP address is being reserved. Each device on the network has a unique MAC address and it is the only device in the world with that MAC address. This address is how the DHCP server knows which device is which. The device's MAC address can be found by examining a label on the device or looking in the device's configuration settings. IP Address The IP address that will be given to the device each time it joins the network. There are times when you may decide to assign an IP address to a specific device.
