Quick Start Wizard Step 1 of 7 Welcome This wizard will help you customize the SBG6782-AC's common Wi-Fi settings. Note: This wizard will restore the SBG6782-AC's default Wi-Fi settings before applying your Wi-Fi customizations. Tip: This wizard's customization options are enough for most people and most homes. But, if you have specialized network needs, you can further configure and customize the SBG6782-AC after completing the wizard. Quick Start Wizard Step 2 of 7 Wi-Fi Network Name & Passphrase Customize the Wi-Fi network's name and the passphrase used to connect to the network. Network Name (SSID) The name is between 1 and 32 alphanumeric characters long. If using Automatic Band Steering this name will apply to both radios. If Band Steering is not enabled the 5 GHz radio name will include this name + '-5g' Passphrase / Wi-Fi Security Key The Passphrase must contain between 8 and 64 characters. Quick Start Wizard Step 3 of 7 2.4GHz & 5GHz Networks Your SBG6782-AC has two Wi-Fi radios. One radio uses the 2.4GHz band and the other radio uses the newer 5GHz band. myCustomizedText myNetworkName myCustomizedText-5g myNetworkName-5g Quick Start Wizard Step 4 of 7 802.11ac Availability The 2.4GHz radio provides Wi-Fi using the 802.11 b , g , and n standards. The 5GHz radio provides Wi-Fi using the 802.11 n and ac standards. 802.11ac is the latest, fastest Wi-Fi standard. If your devices can use 802.11ac, please connect them to the 5GHz network, which is named: myNetworkName-5g Quick Start Wizard Step 4 of 7 Wi-Fi Security Configuration This wizard will configure the SBG6782-AC to use modern WPA2-PSK security. WPA2-PSK security is very robust when used with a strong passphrase. Note: If older devices cannot connect using WPA2-PSK security, the SBG6782-AC can use the legacy WEP security scheme by manually selecting WEP on the network page. Quick Start Wizard Step 6 of 7 Review Settings When you press the Apply button, these settings will be applied: 2.4GHz Network Name defaultmyNetworkName 5GHz Network Name defaultmyNetworkName-5g Passphrase defaultaNetworkPassphrase of Frame 5 Security Mode WPA2-PSK --> Quick Start Wizard Step 7 of 7 Settings Applied The connection settings for your Wi-Fi network can now be used to configure your client devices. 2.4GHz Network Name defaultmyNetworkName 5GHz Network Name defaultmyNetworkName-5g Passphrase aNetworkPassphrase Security Mode WPA2-PSK Tip: Now is a good time to write down, print, or copy the settings into a document. Then, keep them in a safe place. --> Quick Start Wizard Step 3 of 7 Wi-Fi Band Selection Your SBG6782-AC's radio can provide Wi-Fi over the 2.4GHz or 5GHz band. Using the 5GHz band can improve Wi-Fi performance. However, many Wi-Fi devices can only connect using the 2.4GHz band. If your devices can use Wi-Fi on the 5GHz band, select 5GHz. If they can only use the 2.4GHz (or if you do not know) leave the band set to 2.4GHz. Please do not turn off the SBG6782-AC or close this window. Quick Start Wizard Step 5 of 7 User Security Configuration Change the login credentials of your SBG6782-AC's Web Manager. Change Username Enter New Username Re-Enter New Username Change Password Enter New Password Re-Enter New Password Alerts!! Your SBG6782-AC is using Wireless Band Steering to enhance your Wi-Fi Connection performance. If you wish to have separate SSIDs for your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, you can disable this feature and reconfigure your network names. Click Here. Do not show this window again
