Logout SBG6782-AC Wireless - Performance Enhancements This page allows configuration of Wireless Performance Enhancement features. 2.4 GHz 5 GHz Wi-Fi Performance Enhancement Settings (78:96:84:56:35:F3) Band Steering Disabled Enabled Help Band Steering works in the gateway by directing 5 GHz-capable Wi-Fi clients to that band.When the gateway hears a request from a client to associate on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands,it knows the client is capable of operation in 5 GHz. It (band) steers the client by responding onlyto the 5 GHz association request and not the 2.4 GHz request. The client then associates in the 5 GHzband. Note: Band Steering requires that both SSIDs (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Radios) be named the same. In addition, the gateway monitors both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz traffic loads and balances dual band routerperformance by steering some wireless clients to, or away from the 5 GHz band. When the 5 GHz band isoversubscribed, the gateway steers some (less active) wireless clients to use the 2.4 GHz band,and steers them back to the 5 GHz band when capacity is available. Airtime Quality Prioritization Disabled Enabled Help Balances the Airtime Usage when there are wireless clients with different wireless protocols like 802.11b, g, n, or ac connected to the gateway. By enabling Airtime Quality Prioritization, all wireless clients connected to the gateway will receive an equal share of the bandwidth, and ac wireless clients will receive a higher throughput.
