  1. Select User Defined from the Service Name drop-down box. Then, in the User Defined box, type in a name for this forward. This will serve as a reminder to you in the future as to why this forward was set up, so give it a name that makes sense to you.

  2. Choose your internet connection from the WAN Interface drop-down box. If you have more than one option and aren't sure which is correct, the Connection Status section of your router may tell you something.

  3. If you are forwarding a single port, enter that port number into both of the Start Port and both of the End Port boxes. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number of that range into both of the Start Port boxes. Then enter the highest number of that range into both of the End Port boxes.

  4. In the Server IP Address box, enter the IP address that you want ports forwarded to. This may be the IP address of your computer or the IP address of another device on your network that you want to forward ports to.

  5. Use the Protocol dropdown box to select the protocol type of the ports you are forwarding. If your router has the option of Both, then choose that. Otherwise, choose either TCP or UDP as needed. If you need to forward a port for both TCP and UDP and your router does not have Both, then you have to create two entries.

  6. Click the Apply button at the bottom of the page to apply these changes when you are completely finished.

Test Your Open Ports
