Motorola Cable Modem : Home         Logout Basic Status and Settings    Internet Connection        Online Connected Online: This tells you whether your cable modem is Connected to the Internet.       Number of Channels Connected          Downstream 16          Upstream 4 Number of Channels Connected: This item shows how many channels are connected on your cable modem. Downstream channels carry data to your cable modem from the Internet. Upstream channels carry data from your cable modem to the Internet. The more connected channels, the higher the potential connection speed, and the smoother the delivery of content like streaming video and games.       Wi-Fi ® Privacy Settings      5 GHz          Network Name   Network Name: Motorola assigned your device a unique Wi-Fi Network Name (or SSID) at the factory. This name is displayed here. If you want, you can change the name by entering the new name here. If you want to also change the Password, change that too, and then click the Save button. Network Name can be from 6 - 32 characters long. You can use the upper and lower case letters (a - z and A - Z), numbers (0 - 9) and special characters (e.g. $_/& etc.) except the single quote '             Password     Show Key   Password: Motorola assigned your device a unique Wi-Fi Security Key (or Password) at the factory. You can check the Show Key checkbox to see the Security Key. If you want, you can change the Security Key by entering the new key here. If you want to change the SSID, too, make sure you have changed both the SSID and Password, and then click the Save button. Password can be from 8 - 63 characters long. You can use upper and lower case letters (a - z and A - Z), numbers (0 - 9) and special characters (e.g. $_/& etc.) except the single quote '       2.4 GHz          Network Name   Network Name: Motorola assigned your device a unique Wi-Fi Network Name (or SSID) at the factory. The assignment is referred to as a Lease. This is an IPv4 Address, an earlier type of IP Address. Your cable provider may assign an IPv4 Address, an IPv6 Address, or both.       IPv6 Address IPv6 Address: Assigned to your cable modem by your cable provider. The assignment is referred to as a Lease. IPv6 is a newer, longer style of IP Address.
