Enabling wireless security on your Vonage Phone Adapter encrypts the data transmitted over your WLAN and therefore prevents unauthorized viewing of your data. Which wireless security protocol should I use? If all of your wireless clients support WPA2, Vonage recommends using WPA2. If all of you wireless clients do not support WPA2, choose the wireless security protocol supported by your clients. How do I setup WEP security on my wireless router? In a WLAN with WEP security that uses Open authentication, data is transmitted without authentication. In other words, any wireless device that knows the SSID can access the WLAN. With Shared authentication, data is authenticated and transmitted to all clients with shared key authentication enabled. To setup 802.1x security you will need information about the RADIUS server.
