For best results place your Sky Hub: In a central location if you will have several devices connecting to it wirelessly Away from potential sources of interference e.g. microwaves, baby monitors and cordless phones Away from electrical equipment e.g. fluorescent lighting, fans with a motor Away from large metal surfaces Try your Sky Hub in different locations to find the best position and keep your Sky Hub horizontal. If you install your Sky Hub in a non-optimal location or stand it vertically, it may result in reduced performance. Each Sky Hub has a different name. When you connect other devices wirelessly to your Sky Hub this is the name you will need to select from the list of networks available in your area. You can change the name of your Sky Hub to something you may more easily remember containing up to 32 alphanumeric characters. Note the name is case sensitive, 'A' is not the same as 'a'. Region We have set the region by default to Europe. You cannot change this. It may not be legal to operate the Sky Hub in a region other than Europe. Desired Channel We have automatically chosen the best channel for your Sky Hub to operate in. Bandwidth We have displayed Bandwidth, which is automatically selected by the Sky Hub. Mode We have set the mode as Auto to provide the most flexibility.This enables 802.11ac+n+g+b devices to connect to your Sky Hub. 802.11b - 11Mps. 802.11g - 54Mps. The default is "g & b", which allows both "g" and "b" wireless stations to access this device. --> Wireless Access Point Enable Wireless Access Point The Wireless Access Point of your Sky Hub can be enabled or disabled to allow wireless connection of your wireless devices. The wireless icon on the front of your Sky Hub will be illuminated if it’s enabled. If Enabled, connecting devices (computers, tablets, games consoles etc.) will be able to access the Internet wirelessly. If Disabled, connecting devices (computers, tablets, games consoles etc.) won't be able to access the Internet wirelessly. Enable WPS WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) allows you to easily connect devices to the Sky Hub using either the WPS Push Button or PIN configuration. The WPS button is located on the front panel of your Sky Hub. Your Sky Hub is automatically enabled for WPS. You won't be able to use WPS if you are using WEP (Wired Equivalent privacy) or WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key). Synchronise 2.4GHz and 5GHz Settings This option will synchronise 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless with Network Name(SSID),Enable WPS and Security Options.
Settings from the currently selected Wireless Settings page will be applied to another Wireless Settings page WPS PIN Your eight digit WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) PIN is static and assigned to your Sky Hub by default. You should enter this PIN if requested by a device you are connecting to your Sky Hub. This PIN appears on the bottom of your Sky Hub. Security Options We have set a default security setting to prevent unauthorised access to your Sky Hub. This is specific to your Sky Hub and is not a generic password. If you wish to change your security settings select the desired option, and ensure all your connecting devices (computers) have the same setting. Disable - This will disable the security function on your wireless network. Data will not be encrypted before transmission. We don’t recommend selecting this setting. WPA2-PSK - (Wi-Fi Protected Access II Pre-Shared Key) with Advanced Encryption Standard(AES). WPA2 is an improvement on the WPA-PSK standard. With this only users with passwords can access your network. WPA2-PSK improves on the WPA standard by encrypting the signal at a higher bitrate. It is more secure than WEP, and should be used if possible. WPA/WPA2-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access/WPA II Pre-Shared Key) Mixed Mode. WPA2 with backward compatibility with WPA-PSK only devices. WPA-802.1x - This version of WPA requires the use of a Radius server for authentication. Each user (Wireless Client) must have a "user" login on the Radius Server. Data transmissions are encrypted using a key which is automatically generated. Do not use this unless you are an advanced user. --> WEP Security Encryption Authentication Type Normally this can be left at the default value of Open System. If that fails, select the appropriate value - Shared.
