To open a port in your Technicolor TG784n v3 router, follow these important steps:
- On the computer or device that you are forwarding ports to, you will need to set up a static IP address.
- Log in to your Technicolor TG784n v3 router.
- Find the Game & Application Sharing section in your Technicolor TG784n v3 router.
- Click the Toolbox tab, which is at the left of the screen.
- Click on Game & Application Sharing.
- Create a Game & Application Sharing entry.

After setting up a static ip address on your devices you need to login to your router.
Login To Your Technicolor Router
Log in to your Technicolor TG784n v3 router. To log in you will need to use a web browser since the Technicolor TG784n v3 uses a web interface to access router configurations.
Open up whichever internet browser that you are comfortable with. If you are not sure which one to use, then go ahead and open Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.

Once you have opened a web browser, find the address bar which is usually located at the top of the screen. The image below shows an example of this.
Above is an example of what a web browser address bar looks like. Find the address bar in your web browser and type in your router's IP address.
The Technicolor TG784n v3 router's default IP address is: 192.168.1.254
Enter your router's IP address into the address bar of your browser and click the enter button on your keyboard. A box like the one below should appear.
Enter the username and password for the Technicolor TG784n v3 in the corresponding boxes. Important Note: If you have changed them in the past, you need to enter in those values.
- The default Technicolor TG784n v3 Router Username is: Administrator
- The default Technicolor TG784n v3 Router Password is: printed on router
To log in to your Technicolor TG784n v3 router, enter your username and password, and then click the Login button.

Find the Port Forwarding Section
After a successful login to the Technicolor TG784n v3 router you should be on the home page of your router. Now you need to find the Game & Application Sharing section.
- Click the Toolbox tab at the left of the screen.
- Click Game & Application Sharing.
You are now on the Game & Application Sharing page.
Create A Port Forward
Opening a port to a specific device may solve problems that you are having on your network. Make sure that it is necessary though, before opening a port, because you are effectively creating a pinhole in the firewall portion of your router that could lead to malicious traffic on your network. The risk is exceedingly low, though, so don't let this warning stop you from making this change if you need it.
To begin creating a forward, find the Create a new game or application link at the bottom of the screen and click it.

Type in a name for this forward in the Name box. Choose a name that will help you remember why this forward was set up since it does not affect the functionality of the forward.

Click the radio button labeled Manual Entry of Port Maps.

Click the button that says Next.
Here are the ports to forward for Xbox Live:
- TCP Ports: 3074
- UDP Ports: 3074

Use the Protocol dropdown box to select the protocol type of the ports you are forwarding. If your router has the option of Both, then choose that. Otherwise, choose either TCP or UDP as needed. If you need to forward a port for both TCP and UDP and your router does not have Both, then you have to create two entries.

Go ahead and enter the port number into the left Port Range and the right Port Range boxes, to forward a single port. To forward a range of ports, enter the lowest number of that range into the left Port Range box and then enter the highest number of that range into the right Port Range box.
- Translate To, Trigger Protocol, and Trigger Port can all be left alone. You don't need to configure any of them.

Click the Add button when you're finished to add the ports to the list.
Now you need to assign the game or application you created to a device. To do that, find the Assign a game or application to a local network device link located near the bottom of the screen and click it.

Select the game or application you created from the Game or Application drop down menu.

Select the device you want to forward things to from the Device drop down menu. If you don't see the device listed, or aren't sure what name it goes by, you can select the user-defined option and enter the device's IP address manually.
- You can put a check in to the Log checkbox if you'd like to log things, but it's not necessary for things to work.

Finally, click the Apply button to finish assigning the game or application to a device.
