Your TP-Link Talon AD7200 router has a basic firewall that helps to protect your home network from potential Internet threats. The firewall does this by blocking all connections unless otherwise specified. To tell the firewall not to block a connection or port you need to create what is called a port forward.
In this guide we will walk you through each of the following steps:
- How to setup a static IP address on the exact device you plan on forwarding these ports to.
- How to login to the TP-Link Talon AD7200 router.
- How to find the port forwarding section of the router.
- And finally, how to actually create the port forward you want.

Step 1
It is important to setup a static ip address in the device that you are forwarding a port to. This ensures that your ports will remain open even after your device reboots.

This step is important because you want a permanent IP address in your device. If you do not set up a permanent IP address in your device, then when you device reboots it may get a new IP address.
Use a VPN Instead

Step 2
After creating the static IP address on the device or game console you want these ports forwarded to, you need to login to your TP-Link Talon AD7200 router. Your router uses a web interface which means you have to open up a web browser in order to login to the TP-Link Talon AD7200. It doesn't matter which one you open, simply pick your favorite. Some common web browsers are: Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox.
After opening the web browser of your choice, find the address bar. Normally you can find the address bar at the top of the page like this:
Above is an example of what a web browser address bar looks like. Find the address bar in your router and type in your router's IP address.
The default TP-Link Talon AD7200 IP Address is: 192.168.0.1
After entering the IP address into the address bar click the Enter key on your keyboard. You are then given a login screen like this:
Input the username and password in these spaces and press the green Login button.
- The Default TP-Link Talon AD7200 Router Username is: admin
- The Default TP-Link Talon AD7200 Router Password is: password
Having Trouble?
This is a common place to get stuck. If you find yourself here there are a couple things you can try:
- One - You can try other TP-Link passwords and usernames. It's possible our research is wrong or you have a slightly different firmware version. Here is our list of Default TP-Link Router Passwords.
- Two - If the above option did not work then it is because you changed your router's username and password (which is a good thing) but you have forgotten (not so good). - Three - If you are still stuck after both the previous options, it might be time to consider a factory reset. A reset erases all your personal settings and is not recommended unless you have exhausted all other troubleshooting methods. Learn how to reset a router here.
Step 3
You should be logged into the TP-Link Talon AD7200 router interface now. Let's find the port forwarding section. To do that we begin on the Basic Network Map page:
From there, click the tab at the top of the page labeled Advanced.
This takes you to a page similar to the one above. Looking in the left sidebar, click the option of NAT Forwarding.
Then click the option of Virtual Servers.
Once you are on the page you see above, click the green link in the center section of the page labeled +Add.
The above page is where you can create a port forward entry.
Step 4
Here are the ports to forward for Xbox Live:
- TCP Ports: 3074
- UDP Ports: 3074

Make up a name to put in the Service Name box. The name does not have any effect on the functionality of the forward, it's simply there so you can know why it was created.
Enter the port to forward into both the External Port and the Internal Port boxes.
Enter the IP address to forward these ports to into the Internal IP box. If you are forwarding ports so you can run a program on a device other than your computer then you can enter your device's IP address into that box.
Select the required protocol for these ports from the Protocol dropdown box.
Make sure that the Enable This Entry checkbox is checked.
After you are done click the OK button.
Be sure that after completing each port forward entry you press the green OK button.
Don't Forget to Test Your Ports
So you have forwarded your ports. Are they really forwarded? In order to find out if the ports actually forwarded like they should have, use our Open Port Checker.
