Fastest Huawei B5318-42 Router Open Port Guide

A Huawei B5318-42 router contains a basic firewall to help protect your home network. A Firewall blocks incoming connections by nature. Login To Your Huawei Router

Log in to your Huawei B5318-42 router. To log in you will need to use a web browser since the Huawei B5318-42 uses a web interface to access router configurations.

Open up whichever internet browser that you are comfortable with. If you are not sure which one to use, then go ahead and open Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.

Once you have opened a web browser, find the address bar which is usually located at the top of the screen. The image below shows an example of this.

Once you have finished entering your router's IP address into the address bar, click the enter button on your keyboard. A box similar to the one below should appear.

Go ahead and enter the username and password for the Huawei B5318-42 router in the spaces available. Remember if you have changed them in the past, you need to enter those values.

1. Make the Enable selection in the Port Forwarding drop-down list.

2. You need to enter the IP address that you are forwarding ports to into the IP Address box. This can be either the IP address of your computer or any other IP address on your network that you want ports forwarded to.

3. Enter the port number into the left Port Range and the right Port Range boxes to forward a single port. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number of that range into the left Port Range box and then enter the highest number of that range into the right Port Range box.

4. In the Protocol dropdown box, select the protocol type of the ports you are forwarding. Choose Both if your router has that option. Otherwise, choose either TCP or UDP as needed. If you need to forward a port for both TCP and UDP and your router does not have the Both option, then you need to create two entries.

5. Create a name for this forward and type it into the Comment box. Since the name does not have an effect on the functionality of the forward, choose a name that will help you remember why the forward was created.

6. Make sure to click the Apply button at the bottom of the page to apply these changes, when you are completely finished.
