The Novatel Wireless Verizon T1114 router has a firewall that helps protect your home network from unwanted Internet access. The firewall works by blocking all incoming and outgoing connections that have not been authorized. Some online games and programs will not run as smoothly because the connections need to be authorized. To do this you need to create a port forwarding rule.
In this guide we will show you exactly how to create a port forward for the Novatel Wireless Verizon T1114 router. We will show you how to:
- How to setup a static IP address on the device you plan on forwarding the ports to.
- How to login to the Novatel Wireless Verizon T1114 router interface.
- How to find the port forwarding section of the device.
- What information to enter for the port forward entry.

Step 1
It is important to setup a static ip address in the device that you are forwarding a port to. This ensures that your ports will remain open even after your device reboots.

This step is important because you want a permanent IP address in your device. If you do not set up a permanent IP address in your device, then when you device reboots it may get a new IP address.

Step 2
In order to login to the Novatel Wireless Verizon T1114 router you need to open up a web browser. It typically doesn't matter which web browser you decide to open, I recommend picking the one you are most comfortable with such as Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Edge.
Once you have opened the web browser of your choice, find the address bar. The address bar is typically at the top of the page. It will look something like this:
Above is an example of what a web browser address bar looks like. Find the address bar in your router and type in your router's IP address.
The default Novatel Wireless T1114 IP Address is: 192.168.1.1
Press the enter key after you have entered the IP address in the address bar. If everything goes as it should you will see a login page like the one below:
If you do not see a page like the one above, you may have entered the wrong IP address. To find out what the current IP address is, follow the directions on the How To Find Your Router's IP Address page.
If you do see the page like the one displayed above, click the Sign In option in the upper right corner of the page.
You should now see a page like the one above. Go ahead and enter the Admin Password in the appropriate space.
By default the Novatel Wireless Verizon T1114 Admin Password is found: on the router display by selecting Menu > Wi-Fi Name/Password > Open > More > More.
Press the red Sign In button to login to the Novatel Wireless Verizon T1114 router.

This is a common place to have problems. Here are a few tips:

Step 3
Now that you are logged into the Novatel Wireless Verizon T1114 router it is time to find the port forwarding section. To help you with this step, we begin on the Home page.
First, click the Settings option in the left sidebar.
You are taken to a page like the one shown here. Click the option near the top of the page labeled Advanced. Then under that pick the option of Port Forwarding.
Congratulations, you have made it to the port forwarding page.
Step 4
Here are the ports to forward for Xbox Live:
- TCP Ports: 3074
- UDP Ports: 3074

Forwarding a Port Range
Verify that you have the On checkbox checked.
You need to name this entry in the App Name box. The name does not make any difference in the forward; it's just there so that you can remember later why you setup this forward.
Enter the IP address that you want to forward these ports to in the IP Address box. You can enter either the IP address of your computer or the IP address of another computer or device on your network.
Select Range from the Port Type dropdown box.
If you are forwarding a single port, enter that port number into the From and the To boxes. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number of that range into the From box. Then enter the highest number of that range into the To box.
The protocol that you want to forward is selected from the Protocol box.
Forwarding a Single Port
Enable the On checkbox by putting a check in it.
Enter the name of the program into the App Name box. It doesn't really matter what you put into this box, but something that will remind you why these ports are being forwarded is be a good idea.
Enter the IP address that you want to forward these ports to into the IP Address box. Note that if you are forwarding ports so you can run a program on a device other than your computer then you can enter your device's IP address into that box instead.
Select Single from the Port Type dropdown box.
Enter the port to forward into the From and the To boxes.
In the Protocol box select the protocol that you want to forward these ports over.
When you are finished, click the red Save Settings option at the bottom of the page.
Check your Ports
Sometimes it can be difficult to tell if the ports forwarded properly, so we recommend using our Open Port Checker to see if the ports forwarded correctly. Our port checker uses a local application to see if the server is listening. This guarantees an accurate reading.
