Fastest Way to Forward Ports on the TP-Link Archer AX10 v1.20 Router

A TP-Link Archer AX10 v1.20 router protects your home network by blocking unwanted incoming internet connections and acting as a basic firewall. Sometimes you need to open a port in your router in order to get a good connection for a game or to use a specific device on your network. The Archer AX10 v1.20 lets you choose the applications that are allowed to connect through an open port. By opening a port in your router you allow a specific application or game to send data from the internet to your home network.

To open ports in your TP-Link Archer AX10 v1.20 router, follow the steps below:

1. Go ahead and set up a static IP address on the computer or device that you are forwarding these ports to.
2. Log in to your TP-Link Archer AX10 v1.20 router.
3. Navigate to the Port Forwarding section in your TP-Link Archer AX10 v1.20 router.
   • Click on the Advanced button at the top of the screen.
   • Click on the NAT Forwarding button at the left of the screen.
   • Click on Port Forwarding.
4. Go ahead and create a Port Forwarding entry.

Step 1 - Setup A Static IP Address

It is important to set up a static IP address in the device that you are forwarding a port to. This ensures that your ports remain forwarded even after a reboot, power outage, or another type of device or router disconnect.

After setting up a static ip address on your devices you need to login to your router.

Step 2 - Login To Your TP-Link Router

Log in to the TP-Link Archer AX10 v1.20 router. To do this you need to use a web browser because the TP-Link Archer AX10 v1.20 router uses what is called a web interface.

It normally doesn't matter what web browser you use so go ahead and open up your favorite. If you don't have a favorite then open up Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.

Once you have opened up a browser window, find the address bar. This is usually at the top of the page like the image below shows.

Above is an example of what a web browser address bar looks like. Find the address bar in your web browser and type in your router's IP address.

The default IP address for the TP-Link Archer AX10 v1.20 router is: 192.168.0.1

Once you have entered your router's IP address in the address bar go ahead and click the enter button on your keyboard. You should see a box like the one shown below.

To login, enter the username and password for the TP-Link Archer AX10 v1.20s. Important Note: If you have changed them in the past, you need to enter in those values.

Once you enter your username and password, click the Log In button.

Step 3 - Find The Port Forwarding Section

After a successful login to the TP-Link Archer AX10 v1.20 router you should be on the home page of your router. Now you need to find the Port Forwarding section.

• Click the Advanced button at the top of the screen.
• Find the NAT Forwarding tab located near the left of the screen and click on it.
• Click Port Forwarding.

You should now be on a page that says Port Forwarding.

Step 4 - Create A Port Forward Entry

Make sure that you must open a port in your router before doing so since this will allow data to come through the firewall portion of your router to a specific device. It is possible that this could lead to malicious traffic on your network. However, don't let this warning stop you from making this change if you need it because the risk is very low.

Here are the ports to forward for Xbox Live:

• TCP Ports: 3074
• UDP Ports: 3074

To start adding an entry click the Add link, which is at the top of the screen.

1. Make up a name to put in the Service Name box. The name does not have any effect on the functionality of the forward; it's simply there so you can know why it was created.

2. In the Device IP Address box, enter the IP address that you want ports forwarded to. This may be the IP address of your computer or the IP address of another device on your network that you want to forward ports to.

3. You can enter either a single number or a range of numbers in the External Port box. If you are forwarding a single port number, you can enter it into the External Port box. To forward a range of ports, you can enter the lowest number of that range into the External Port box, followed by a hyphen, followed by the largest number. An example would look like this: 1000-2000.

4. Take the values that you entered in the External Port box and put the exact same numbers in the Internal Port box. If you forwarding a range, just enter the lowest number of the range here.

5. Use the Protocol dropdown box to select the protocol type of the ports you are forwarding. If your router has the option of Both, then choose that. Otherwise, choose either TCP or UDP as needed. If you need to forward a port for both TCP and UDP and your router does not have Both, then you have to create two entries.

6. Check Enable This Entry.

7. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page when you are completely finished to apply these changes.
