A DigicelPlay HG8245H router contains a basic firewall to help protect your home network. A Firewall blocks incoming connections by nature. Sometimes you need to unblock some of these connections so you can run a game or application. This is called opening a port or port forwarding. Port forwarding is literally forwarding a port from the internet to your home network.
To open ports in your DigicelPlay HG8245H router, follow the steps below:
- Go ahead and set up a static IP address on the computer or device that you are forwarding these ports to.
- Log in to your DigicelPlay HG8245H router.
- Navigate to the Port Mapping Configuration section in your DigicelPlay HG8245H router.
- Find the Forward Rules tab located near the top of the screen and click it.
- Click on the Port Mapping Configuration tab, which is at the left of the screen.
- Go ahead and create a port forward entry.
If this sounds difficult, you are not alone. We will walk you through each step in opening a port for the DigicelPlay HG8245H router.
We think that forwarding a port should be easy. That's why we created Network Utilities. Our software does everything that you need to forward a port.

In order to login to the DigicelPlay HG8245H router you need to use a web browser. The DigicelPlay HG8245H router uses what is called a web interface where you can access and control router settings.
Go ahead and open up your favorite web browser. If you don't have a favorite or are not sure what this means, open up Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.
If this step is confusing, we have simplified it for you with this link: Login to your HG8245H Router
Find the address bar once you have opened up a web browser. This is usually located at the top of the page, like in the image below.
Above is an example of what a web browser address bar looks like. Find the address bar in your web browser and type in your router's IP address.
The DigicelPlay HG8245H router's default IP address is: 192.168.100.1
After typing your router's IP address into the address bar, make sure to click the enter button on your keyboard. You should see a box similar to the one shown below.
Enter the username and password for the DigicelPlay HG8245H in the corresponding boxes. Important Note: If you have changed them in the past, you need to enter in those values.
- The default DigicelPlay HG8245H Router Username is: root
- The default DigicelPlay HG8245H Router Password is: admin

DigicelPlay Usernames and Passwords
If the username or password did not work check out our Default DigicelPlay Router Passwords page.
If you are unable to log in even after trying the above list of passwords you may need to consider a reset for your router. Our guide How to Reset a Router can help you with that. After resetting the DigicelPlay HG8245H router your username and password will be reverted back to factory defaults.
Step 3
After successfully logging in to your DigicelPlay HG8245H router you should see the router's home page on your screen. Find the Port Mapping Configuration section of your router.
Click on the Forward Rules tab, which is at the top of the screen.
Click the Port Mapping Configuration tab at the left of the screen.
You are now on the Port Mapping Configuration page.
Step 4
Forwarding ports in your router creates a path that allows data to get through your network firewall, and this could lead to malicious traffic on your network. So make sure that you must forward a port before actually doing so. However, the risk is very low, so do not let this warning stop you from making this change if you need to.
Here are the ports to forward for Xbox Live:
- TCP Ports: 3074
- UDP Ports: 3074

Select User-defined from the Type drop-down box.
Put a check in the Enable Port Mapping box.
Put a name for this forward in the Mapping Name box so that you can remember why you set this forward up. The name does not matter, so pick something that has meaning to you.
Enter the IP address that you are forwarding ports to into the Internal Host box. It is possible to forward a port to the IP address of your computer or to the IP address of a specific device on your internal network.
There is no need to put anything in the External Source IP Address boxes; you can leave it blank.
Choose TCP/UDP from the Protocol drop-down box.
If you are forwarding a single port, enter that port number into the External Port box. If you are forwarding a range of ports separated by a hyphen, then enter the whole range into the External Port box.
Leave the External source port number boxes blank.
Enter the exact same values that you put in the External Port box, into the Internal Port box.
To apply these changes, remember to click the Add button at the bottom of the page when you are completely finished.
Test If Your Ports Are Open
